So last Friday when Steve was concreting a ramp for a client, I said I would help him. Firstly because he is my partner in life and secondly it was a tough job for one person.
The day before Steve dug the 1.8m x 1.2m x .1m section and then formed it up ready for us today. He wanted to mix the concrete by hand in a wheelbarrow, there were thirty two twenty kilo bags and in the end I convinced him to hire an electric mixer. It made such a difference. My job was to carry the bags from the trailer to the mixer, empty them in six bag lots and mix them up. It was hard work, I was sweating and panting, but in the end it was like mixing batter for a cake. I got pretty good at it. I mixed, he poured and levelled. My final job was to shovel the dirt into the wheelbarrow and dump it out the back, in there paddock. I'm very proud of Steve, he is one of those tradies that can do it all and this is one of the reasons I love working with him. Steve and I own a business so whatever we need to do to help out our clients we get together and make it happen. Teamwork, without it, jobs don't get done, whatever it takes. Check out the photos below. Anyway now I'm off to dismantle an exhibition stand in Brisbane and Steve is helping me. He does the majority of the work, I just hold the ladder. We do it all. Keep on Trucking Maree #plumber #tradies #concreting #familybusiness #sydney #hardwork #teamwork |
